Lucasfilms is insanely good at merchandising. Rovio is insanely good at merchandising. It should seem a no-brainer that the two should join forces. That’s right, Angry Birds Star Wars — because you haven’t played the same game enough already.
Unveiled this morning, Angry Birds Star Wars will be available to download November 8th — but it won’t just be a game. Oh no, that’s small talk. There will be toys, costumes, bizarre board games, and more. In other words, it’ll be a ludicrous level of merchandising that could only be created by these titans of the tie-in.
What remains to be seen is if Angry Birds have outstayed their welcome. After all, there has been the original, Seasons, Rio, Space, the Bad Piggies game, and now this. There are candies, toys, clothes, and just about anything else you can imagine emblazoned with that red bird. Are people tired of the franchise yet? I guess November 8th will let us know.
