Analyst Eightball: Verizon iPhone in Q3 of 2010

I’m introducing a new feature that I’m calling Analyst Eightball. Whenever we get a piece of news from an analyst, who starts hawking dates, prices and timelines without any real evidence, we’re treating it with as much veracity as the answer from a Magic Eightball. Maybe it’ll come true, maybe it won’t. We’ll just have to see.

8ball Analyst Eightball: Verizon iPhone in Q3 of 2010

Today’s eightball is: SeekingAlpha, and the question is “Will there be a Verizon iPhone”

Shake the ball!

And the answer is…

1) Verizon, not T-Mobile, gets the iPhone in 2010
2) It is a smaller version of the current iPhone. We couldn’t get insight into what was meant by “smaller”, but food for thought.
3) It is a global hybrid phone, meaning, I assume, a dual mode CDMA and GSM world iPhone.
4) By Qualcomm
5) Scheduled for launch in 3Q10
