According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kua via MacRumors, Apple will release an all new iPhone in early September. This is contrary to past rumors which had Apple launching the highly anticipated next generation iPhone in October. Kuo expects it to happen in early September.
In what seems surprising to us, Kuo suggests the iPad mini will launch later in September. Seems odd to have two new products launching within weeks of each other, rather then a release in unison? The analyst points out that the release date is due to need for component ramping up, which he expects to happen in August. As for sales figures, Kuo places demand for the new low-cost iPad mini to result in sales that will overtake the new iPad with retina display.
Remember the iPod touch, the iOS device that has gone years without a refresh. If his report is on the mark, it will receive the same in-cell touch display rumored for the iPhone 5. Also coming this fall would be a 13-inch retina MacBook Pro and new iMacs.
If Kuo is on the mark, it should be quite a fall for Apple and definitely a damaging on for credit cards. One thing left out of the report was the Apple Television. Guess that unicorn is not ready for primetime just yet.
