Shaw Wu of Kaufman Bros. sent out a note to investors opining on the rumored iTV launch from Apple. According to his sources, the rebranded AppleTV would shift from the x86-based processors of the current generation of set-top boxes, and instead shift to ARM architecture, like that found in the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
Wu also suggested that the new device would have access to the App Store, though obviously the app selection would have to be radically different from those for the iPhone and iPad. Without a touch interface or motion controls, it will be a very different beast to interact with.
