The last week or so has seen reports of the iPad Mini flourish like never before seen, to the point where enough solid sources have chimed in that the device is almost believable. So, if Apple is to create a 7-8-inch version of the iPad, how popular will it be? Will it flounder in the awkward in-between size, stuck as a not quite cellphone and not quite tablet? Or will it sell gangbusters, like every other iOS device? Here’s what Piper Jaffrey’s Gene Munster thinks.Munster, who is famously pro-Apple, is pegging that Apple could move as many as 6 million iPads this holiday season — that’s assuming a $299 price point, and 16GB of storage. At $300 a unit, suddenly the great masses of people who thought a full-size iPad was just too expensive will have a far more reasonable way into the wonderful world of the iPad.
