A 128GB iPad 4 would be bittersweet for me.

First, I have always wanted a higher capacity iPad so I can just have all my music downloaded on it and not worry about running out of space with videos (etc). No more need for iTunes Match either. On the other hand, a 128GB iPad would likely start to come dangerously closely priced to an iMac which I have also been debating whether to buy for a while. With the two likely to be within a few hundred dollars from one another in price, I would probably just get the iMac and hold on to my current 64GB iPad 3. Decisions, decisions..

  2. My guess is that for people who want to carry all of their media, they are willing to pay a premium. I’m starting to realize that I don’t need the big boy and questioning why I went with the 64GB model.

Yeah – I had the same thoughts up until this weekend. At a friends housewarming – my iPad was the source for music playing. I have iTunes match and was on LTE (she didn’t have Wifi yet), so I figured no big deal to let people choose songs to play (click on them, they download and play). I did not account for one of my friends clicking the cloud at the bottom of a 500 songs playlist which wiped out my data plan completely. At that moment, iTunes match fell to pieces for me. I would much rather have an iPad that can tote around all my media locally. I’m just not willing to pay big dollars for it. Classic case of can’t have my cake and eat it too.
