Apple’s iOS devices have been capped at a limit of 64GB, but signs point to a new iPad 4 that would double storage capacity to 128GB. 9to5Mac reports that new SKU’s have shown up at a prominent retailer that suggest a 128GB variant of the current iPad 4 line. As with the existing fourth generation iPads, this larger storage capacity model will be available in black or white with an option for cellular.
Over the weekend, Apple released iOS 6.1 beta 5, with a public release apparently growing closer. Developers have found code within the new beta would points to 128GB iOS devices, thus adding fuel to the fire of speculation. Sources say the new 128GB iPad 4 will be priced at $799 for the WiFi only model, with the WiFi+Cellular clocking in at $929.
A new iPad 5 is rumored for later this year, likely sometime this fall.
